Sara and Alex’s Joyful Lakeside Wedding at the Whiteface Club and Resort in Lake Placid, NY

A big thanks to my original apprentice, now second shooter Abby Allaire for spending the weekend with me for Sara and Alex’s wedding- many of these beautiful photos are hers!

For their entire ten-year relationship, Sara and Alex have been the hype people in the lives of their family and friends- so it was an absolute pleasure to see things reversed and each guest at their wedding use every fiber in their being to celebrate these two spectacular people. Abby and I kept commenting to each other how much laughter we were capturing throughout the day. Both Sara and Alex are extremely close with their siblings, and what a delight it was to photograph the tight bonds that have persisted over their lives.

After nearly a month of rain, the blue skies that hung over Lake Placid the entire day was a treat for guest and vendor alike. Not a dry eye was visible as Sara and Alex said their vows to each other, and all the guests crammed onto the deck to see them off on their boat ride aboard a pristine 1920’s Chris Craft around the lake (which I was lucky enough to jump aboard as well!).

The blues and greens of the Adirondacks surrounding Lake Placid have captivated me since I was a child, and I love capturing the idyllic summer playground nearly every year these days as the Whiteface Club has become a favorite spot to photograph weddings. Adding a super sweet couple and their grateful families to the mix made for a weekend that felt more like play than work!
