An Early Summer Wedding Weekend on Martha’s Vineyard
The Tabah Family have been friends of mine since I photographed Issy’s wedding in Aspen in September, two years ago. Their kindness and joie de vivre always sets the stage for my favorite kind of photography experience: where I feel both inspired and comfortable as I’m creating images.
The Tabahs have been visiting Martha’s Vineyard for decades, and Liv and Alex curated all their favorite activities into one weekend that was action-packed while still feeling laid-back. The weekend began with a beach day, complete with human-powered boat ferry. After washing off the sand, the party continued with a sunset BBQ at a dear friends’ barn with Vineyard band Mike Benjamin and the Keepers playing Liv and Alex’s favorite Grateful Dead jams.
On Saturday morning, more than half their guests joined Liv and Alex for a 5k run around their favorite roads and trails around Chilmark (I was able to document it all on my beloved gravel bike) before headed just down the road to Allen Sheep and Wool, where the heart of the wedding took place. Long past sunset, guests moved into the cocktail hour tent for a silent disco afterparty, with the ocean just steps away.
